Cooks River Forest

Chullora Bush Picture

The pictures show the Cooks River Forest in Chullora (between Bankstown, Auburn and Strathfield).

Some of this bush will be destroyed by the National Rail Corporation, which is expanding its rail terminal, pushing train lines straight through the bushland.

This bushland contains over two hundred different kinds of plants and supports native fish, eight species of frogs, and snakes. Over 90 different bird species have been recorded here in the last two years

The development will wipe out over 25% of the bushland and leave small fragments behind. Many of these are unlikely to survive
