Dear [Sir or Madam], I am asking for your help. It has recently come to my attention that bushland in Western Sydney is at risk. In particular I am concerned about the Old Toongabbie Forest. This forest is a magnificent example of what used to be in the area and as an endangered ecological community represents only a very small fraction of what used to exist. I understand that the developer wishes to build on the significant areas of this site and that the interim protection order, which has stopped construction on the site for 15 months has expired. What is being done to address this problem? Is the developer willing to negotiate and change their plans so that the forest is not damaged? As the developer has still not agreed to protect the forest when the protection order expired, will your government buy the land? What measures are currently being taken to ensure that the land is not cleared? I believe that it is vital to save the bushland remnants in Western Sydney. The Toongabbie Forest is a critical piece of our remaining natural heritage. I hope you can help.
